Who is responsible for your data

The publisher of QuizRoom is the controller of your data. You can reach them at sawadogo.badiniibrahim@gmail.com.

The data we process

• Your account: email address, sign-in identifier (email, Google or Apple) and the account's technical ID.
• Your player profile: username, avatar picked from the app's set, language and app preferences.
• Your play: rooms joined, answers, scores, game results and history, level, XP, badges, jokers in stock and daily reward streak.
• The global leaderboard: your username, avatar, level and XP are visible to other signed-in players. In a room, your username and score are visible to the other players in that room.
• The question reports you send.
• In-app purchases, once available: purchase history and subscription status, provided by Apple or Google. We never receive your payment details.
• Technical data: device model and operating system, app version, crash logs, and an app integrity attestation (Firebase App Check) that protects our servers.
• If you agree: usage statistics (audience measurement) and your device's advertising ID for personalized ads.
• The messages you send to support.

Why we use it

• To run the game: sign-in, live games, scores, progress, leaderboard, daily reward (performance of the contract, that is the terms of use).
• To protect the game and our servers against cheating and abuse, and to fix crashes (legitimate interest).
• To show ads, personalized only with your consent, otherwise non-personalized (legitimate interest).
• To measure the app's audience, only with your consent.
• To handle purchases and the subscription (contract) and meet our legal obligations, including accounting.
• To answer your support requests.

Your choice for ads and audience measurement

On first launch the app asks for your consent, separately, for personalized ads and for audience measurement. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and you can change your mind at any time in Profile, Settings, Privacy. No ads are shown during a question or between questions; rewarded videos are always optional.

Services that process data on our behalf

• Google Firebase (Google LLC and Google Ireland): authentication, database, server functions, remote configuration, crash logs (Crashlytics), audience measurement (Analytics) and App Check.
• Google AdMob: ads. Consent is collected through Google's consent platform.
• Google Gemini: generation of quiz questions, server side. No personal data is sent for this: only the topic, language and number of questions.
• RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.): management of in-app purchases and the subscription, using your account's technical ID.
• Apple and Google: app distribution and payment for purchases, under their own policies.
• Vercel (Vercel Inc.): hosting of this website.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some of these providers may process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, depending on the provider.

How long we keep it

• Account, profile and game data: as long as your account exists.
• After a deletion request: 30 days during which you can change your mind by signing in again, then permanent deletion of your account, profile, progress, wallet and leaderboard entry.
• Crash logs: 90 days.
• Audience measurement: according to the retention set in Google Analytics, at most 14 months.
• Purchase data: as long as our legal obligations require, including accounting.
• Support messages: as long as needed to handle your request, then at most 3 years.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, erase or port your data, to restrict processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before. Write to sawadogo.badiniibrahim@gmail.com; we reply within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with your country's data protection authority, in France the CNIL (cnil.fr).

Delete your account

In the app: Profile, Settings, Delete my account. Without access to the app, write to sawadogo.badiniibrahim@gmail.com from your account's address. The Support page details the steps.

Minimum age

QuizRoom is meant for people aged 13 and over. If you believe a younger child has given us data, write to us: we will delete it.

Security

Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted. Database access rules limit each player to their own data, and game decisions (timer, answers, points, rewards) are made by our servers.

This website

This website sets no analytics or advertising cookie. The host keeps technical connection logs to keep the service secure.

Changes

We update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. For a significant change, we let you know in the app.
